The Perla Marina hotel occupies a great position, right opposite the sea and beach. Nerja has over 10 miles of sandy beaches and all major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing. The Balcon de Europa is a promenade along the edge of a cliff, with great panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below. To one side of the town is the Sierra Almijara mountain range.
