Hotel Biskajer

Rating:
The Hotel Biskajer is situated in a quiet square in the historic centre of Bruges, within walking distance of the tourist and cultural attractions for which this medieval Flemish city is world renowned, and for which the Biskajer is an ideal base to explore on foot. Thus only a short distance away can be found such architectural treasures as the Bladelin Court and, flanking the famous Market Square, the Old Town Hall and the Belfry Tower. The whole of the city centre is indeed a UNESCO World Heritage Site, containing a number of priceless medieval churches and civic buildings, as well as crow-step gabled houses lining canals that earned for Bruges the title of Venice of the North. The Hotel itself occupies a four-storey building dating back to the early nineteenth century and has 17 double- and twin-bedded guest-rooms tastefully decorated in period style - with purple-pink wallpaper and white-oak panelling - and each with its own en-suite bathroom. The Biskajer also offers guests the use of a bar, breakfast room replete with timber beams and crystal chandeliers, lift to all floors and, for the usual charges, nearby public car-parking. The Hotel reception - with luggage storage and concierge service - is manned to 8 pm by a multi-lingual staff who are able to assist with tourist information enquiries and to provide tourist-concession tickets. Maximum guest-room occupancy is however limited to two persons, smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Hotel, and neither can pets nor children aged under eight be accepted.
