George Frederic Handel

Rating:
An excellent hotel for those looking for a good quality 3 star property with modern touches in the heart of Dublin's Temple bar district. It is particularly busy with a young crowd on Friday and Saturday nights, and guests driving get discounted parking at nearby Christchurch Car Park. Free WiFi is also available throughout the hotel. (GW 08/2011) Location This hotel is situated close to Christ Church Cathedral, located on Fishamble street in Temple bar. Although the hotel was built in 1996, it is located on one of the most historically important streets in Dublin. It is a great central location in a quiet street with the Guinness Brewery nearby. Distance 16 kms to the nearest airport (dublin airport) 3 km to the nearest station (heuston) 2 minute walk to the nearest bus stop 1 km to the nearest fair site (dublina) Rooms All of the bedrooms are very modern, and are decorated in light wood. The wallpaper is based on a theme of Handel's music. The rooms are very attractive, in good condition and the bathrooms are modern. Restaurant The hotel has one bistro style restaurant, on the first floor, with wood flooring. There is a lively, modern bar situated on the ground floor of the hotel which is truly unique in style. The bar has a live DJ on weekends and is very trendy and chic! Exterior It is a fairly traditional style building. The site on which the hotel now stands once housed the music hall where Handel?s Messiahwas first performed. To this day, Handel?s famous work is still recited once a year right outside the front door. A complete renovation of the property has given the hotel a modern feel. Lobby The lobby area is small and modern in design.
